Creative Inspirations from the Field: Staying Engaged with the Arts, is approved for 11 Continuing Education (CE) hours as a Home-Study course.
To obtain a CE Certificate, participants must:
- Complete the Creative Inspirations From The Field: Staying Engaged with the Arts online course.
- Register for this CE course.
- Complete the CE Test (70% passing grade; retake option available) and CE Evaluation.

Creative Inspirations from the Field: Staying Engaged with the Arts
Course Description
Through 10 video interviews/presentations with international professional practitioners from the field of Expressive Arts Therapy, participants will get the opportunity to get inspired and revitalize their creative clinical practice. These clinicians have opened their doors to share how they creatively integrate the expressive arts into their work through a variety of theoretical and practical approaches. These include, but are not limited to, play and improvisation, attunement, music and imagery, puppetry, Focusing Oriented Expressive Arts, Person-Centered Expressive Arts, Expressive Arts in trauma work, and the Expressive Therapies Continuum.
These presentations bring the work to life through a combination of didactic and experiential demonstrations, case examples, and role plays. This workshop is presented as a self-led, self-paced learning opportunity.

Course Content Level: Open to beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
Course Learning Objectives:
- List examples of a variety of hands-on approaches that can be applied in clinical practice.
- Integrate the arts as a mode of inquiry in their clinical work.
- Formulate interventions to address treatment goals of clients served.
- Modify interventions to use on a telehealth platform.
- Summarize at least one theoretical approach in the field of Expressive Arts Therapy related to arts and healing.
- Describe how to help a client work through traumatic memories and shift emotional states through the arts.
- Identify person-centered qualities that can inform arts-based interventions
- Demonstrate an understanding of deepening the clinical work through intermodal transfer.
- Identify and gain understanding in the theoretical and practical application of rhythm and music in clinical practice.
Satisfactory Completion for CEs: This program is approved for 11 CE hours. Participants must have paid the course tuition fee through Expressive You Online School and CE fee through the FOAT Online School, and completed both online courses to 100% progression (includes passing CE Test with 70% or higher score, along with completion of CE Evaluation).
